# QR selfie filter for parties

Print a QR to [vikmil.com/tekdetek](https://vikmil.com/tekdetek/?entry=looks). Guests land in swipeable **event selfie looks** — ASCII, reaction-diffusion, cellular automata — and shoot. No app store. That is the **QR selfie filter** / **party QR camera filter** path.
TekDetek is not completely free. Guests can open, swipe, and edit for free. A guest record is watermarked and 20 seconds unless the host has [Pro](https://tekdetek.gumroad.com/l/xkljia) on that browser. Pro is clean, unlimited export for event deliverables.

## Free vs Pro

Free: open the app, swipe and edit looks (phone reaction-diffusion and cellular automata included), luma detection, Hand, watermarked MP4 or PNG up to 20 seconds, watermarked OBS up to 5 minutes (restart anytime).

Pro: clean export with no watermark, unlimited record and OBS, full preset library, Shuffle, Depth and Alt ASCII, add RD / CA / PreText / GEO 3D / Sonify on the desktop graph, higher detection caps. TekDetek is not completely free.

## Night-out path

Phone mode hides the node graph. Default path: open → swipe → record. EDIT is there if someone wants knobs.
Works with [ASCII](https://vikmil.com/tekdetek-ascii-vj.html), [RD](https://vikmil.com/tekdetek-reaction-diffusion.html), and [CA](https://vikmil.com/tekdetek-cellular-automata.html).

## Event checklist

Test camera permission on iOS Safari before doors. Provide Wi‑Fi or a hotspot. Bright QR signage beats reading a URL out loud. Deploy notes: [QR party funnel](https://vikmil.com/tekdetek-note-qr-party.html).
