Tekdetek is a client-side video/VJ tool. Processing runs in your browser. We do not run a login system for the public app and we do not ask you to create an account to use the core tool.
If you grant permission, the app may access your camera or screen capture for live video input. That video is processed locally in the browser for preview and effects unless you explicitly use a feature that sends data elsewhere (for example, loading external scripts or assets you choose). You can revoke camera or mic access at any time in your browser settings.
The app may use browser storage (for example IndexedDB or localStorage) to keep presets, preferences, or cached assets so the tool can work faster or offline after the first load. This stays on your device unless you export or share files yourself.
Basic site delivery may rely on standard HTTP and CDN behavior. If we use third-party services (see Advertising below), those providers may set or read cookies or use similar technologies under their own policies.
Ads served by Google AdSense may appear on written pages such as this policy and the Tekdetek user guide. The interactive app at /tekdetek/ does not load the AdSense script so ads are not shown on a bare canvas or tool-only view. Google uses cookies and may personalize or measure ads per its policies — see Advertising & Cookies and Ads Settings. We publish ads.txt at the site root for authorized sellers.
Hosting or DNS providers may log standard technical data (for example IP address, user agent, timestamps) when you request pages. We use such information only as needed to operate and secure the site, unless a separate lawful basis applies.
This site is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we have collected a child’s personal data in error, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at the email above. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
